As part of my mission to help people find the best free-from spots in Leeds, this mega-post acts as a companion to my post on eating gluten-free in Leeds.

a maindish on your regular menu, be that small-plates or brunch options
- Make it easy to find* the vegan options – a vague ‘ask your server’ doesn’t cut it unless the rest of the menu is delivered verbally too *whether that’s through labelling on your regular menu, a separate vegan menu, or just a clear and easy-to-find message somewhere about vegan options
I’ve also split the list down into a few broad categories. I know that when I’m looking for somewhere to eat I
- Indies (Restaurants that started locally and/or have fewer than 5 venues)
- Chains (National restaurants with 5+ venues)
I’m also planning more detailed posts covering specific cuisines or meals – you can see my guide to vegan brunch in Leeds here.
I sometimes write about places to eat and drink in Leeds, however, the Leeds food scene is a dynamic and ever-expanding one. While I make every effort to update these lists as things change, I just don’t have the time to keep them 100% up-to-date. Please check the date the post was published, and contact the venue if you’re at all unsure. If you notice any out-of-date information or know of a Leeds venue that should be added to a list, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to let me know.
